I hope to list many websites which can be valuable for PE and Health teachers in our district as well as others. One great website to check out is PBS KIDS GO! It's My Life - an interactive award winning site for "tweens" ages 8 - 13. It is organized into 6 channels - Friends, Family, School, Body, Emotions and Money -
There is an educators section that focuses on bullies, drug abuse, eating disorders, being home alone, making money, smoking, sports and participation, time management, cheating, transitioning from MS to HS, stress, surviving embarrassing moments, relating to a teacher.

Great DOE sites and updated info.

1. All of our trainings and program announcements are sent out over ourlistserv. Chiniqua Milligan is our listserv manager, and anyone wishingto be added to the listserv can send her an email atcmilligan@doe.mass.edu. We reserve the listserv for messages pertainingto health, safety, and coordination in schools.2. The Health Education Curriculum Analysis Tool (HE-CAT) has recentlybeen released from CDC/DASH and is a great tool to use in evaluatingyour curriculum. It works off of the National Health EducationStandards and we encourage schools to integrate the NHES into yourcurriculum and to use them in tandem with the MA Health CurriculumFramework to develop your scope and sequence. The HE-CAT can be foundat http://www.cdc.gov/HealthyYouth/HECAT/index.htm3. Another website of interest is the CDC/DASH site. This is where youwill find the HE-CAT, PE-CAT, School Health Index, etc. In addition, you will find all sorts of information about quality health educationpractices. The main site is http://www.cdc.gov/HealthyYouth/index.htmYou may also wish to look at the Michigan Model curriculum. This is oneof the curriculum out there that has a skills focus and is k-12. Thecurriculum can be found at http://www.emc.cmich.edu/mm/If you are looking for updated information in HIV/STD/PregnancyPrevention, Joy Robinson-Lynch our HIV Coordinator is planning 4sessions related to this topic. I have included the attachment for you.

Integrating disciplines through the use of blogs

It has always been a goal of mine to integrate ideas when possible - We are very isolated in the Health PE area - I would like to set up a blog with whoever would care to join in at the Middle School - Sandy
